The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday sought comments from the provincial and local authorities on a petition seeking enforcement of the ban on preparation, manufacturing and selling of Gutka in the province. The SHC bench was hearing the petition filed by Rashid Khan, who approached the court against the authorities for their failure to curb the menace of Gutka.
The petitioner submitted that the high court had time and again issued directives to the authorities to implement the ban against the use of Gutka, which was playing havoc with the lives of people, but the authorities had failed to enforce the ban as it was being sold openly throughout the province.
