The dead body of singer-turned-preacher Junaid Jamshed, who died in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane crash near Havelian on December 7, has been identified through his facial X-ray; it was learnt on Tuesday. Senior officials of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration and Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital confirmed that the dead body of Junaid Jamshed has been identified through X-ray of his face and teeth's history.
Dead bodies of 13 victims of plane crash have been identified so far, they added. They said all the arrangements have been made for handing over the dead body of Junaid Jamshed to his relatives. The officials said the management of Ayub Medical Complex has issued the initial forensic report of the dead bodies in the air crash. The initial forensic report consists of 63 pages and it also includes the evidence gathered alongside the dead bodies.
They said the initial report has been prepared after conducting postmortem of dead bodies. The initial forensic report would also be helpful in identification of dead bodies, they revealed. The PIA plane PK-661 carrying 47 people en route from Chitral to Islamabad crashed in the mountains near Havelian, district Abbottabad, on December 7, after one of its two engines failed. Three Army helicopters shifted the dead bodies from Abbottabad to Jinnah Sports Complex in Islamabad and then from there, dead bodies were shifted to PIMS hospital through ambulances.
The dead included Junaid Jamshed and his wife, Chitral's Deputy Commissioner Osama Ahmad Warraich, his wife and an infant daughter, besides three foreigners. Shahzada Farhad Aziz, a member of Chitral's royal family, and his daughter, three employees of the Aga Khan Foundation and an official of the Hashoo Foundation were also among the dead.
