Asian Development Bank will provide technical assistance to Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) for skill up gradation in the province of the Punjab. This initiative will improve the skilful training being imparted at TEVTA Institutes.
It was stated by Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh while talking with the mission of Asian Development Bank during visit to TEVTA Secretariat, here Tuesday. The mission members included Principal Education Specialist Noman LaRocque, Planning and Policy Specialist Ms Divya Mathew, Senior Project Officer Munir Abro, International Consultants Ms Vandana Sipahimalani-Rao, and International Consultants Arif Amin.
Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that delegation of Asian Development Bank has discussed in detail to explore the possibilities of co-operation with TEVTA Punjab in specific and the skills sector at large.
The ADB will provide support for latest training opportunities for youth of the Punjab, Industry-institute linkage, teachers training and placement of TEVTA pass-outs across the province of the Punjab. He briefed the mission that a modern system of competence based training and assessment has been launched in lines of international standard instead of traditional training.
The chairperson TEVTA further said, "We have also completed the targets given by World Bank for PSDP." Industry Partnership Program has also successfully been launched in order to provide quality technical education as per demand of industry. Youth will not only get quality technical education but job opportunities will also be available locally and internationally.
