The Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC) has set up a special facilitation centre to provide potential local and foreign investors with all the necessary information to boost local furniture industry globally. "The centre will perform as a bridge between the local and foreign investors to ensure sustainability of businesses. Over 4,000 firms and companies are associated directly and indirectly with furniture sector and some of them are also doing business with their foreign counterparts," said PFC Chief Executive Mian Kashif Ashfaq while chairing the meeting of the board of directors here on Monday.
Council's General Manager Hamid Mahmood will head the centre while Adnan Afzal, Business Manager, has been appointed as focal person for close co-ordination with the prospect investors.
Ashfaq said he would bear all expenses of boarding, lodging and travelling from his own pocket for all those foreign investors who will visit Pakistan for participating and displaying stalls at forthcoming three-day seventh Interiors Pakistan mega exhibition being held from March 3 at Tulip Club, Islamabad. The council is focusing on marketing activities in key markets (USA, Japan, European Union and Gulf) and foreign buyers are also being invited to visit Pakistan.
