The Karachi Port handled 156,682 tonnes of cargo comprising 135,636 tonnes of import cargo and 21,046 tonnes of export cargo including 4,789 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 135,636 tonnes comprised of 43,121 tonnes of containerised cargo; 8,719 tonnes of general cargo; 49,378 tonnes of total bulk cargo and 34,418 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 21,046 tonnes comprised of 20,664 tonnes of containerised cargo and 382 tonnes of general cargo. As many as 4,789 containers comprising of 3,004 containers import and 1,785 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday. The break-up of imported containers shows 832 of 20's and 958 of 40's loaded while 20 of 20's and 118 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 207 of 20's and 325 of 40's loaded containers while 354 of 20's and 287 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were seven ships namely Wide India, Vecchio Bridge, MT Karachi, Zemgale, Ivs Gleneagles, Lord Wellington and Phoenix Nereid carrying containers, oil tankers, coal and DAP respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were seven vessels viz. Batam Trader, Kota Kasturi, Kota Lahir, Maistros, Spot Tail, Amis Wisdom-1 and Rickmers Antwerp carrying containers, oil tankers, coal and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were four ships namely Batam Trader, Kota Kasturi, Northern Dependant and Rickmers Antwerp carrying containers and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday, while two ships namely Al Mahboobah and Aqua Prosper carrying chemical and coal respectively are expected to sail on Friday.
There were four vessels viz. Cosco Fukuyama, Trugen, MT Lahore and Da Hua carrying containers, oil tankers and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Thursday, while seven vessels viz. Lissy Schulte, Hyundai Vancouver, Fowairet, Bremen Trader, KY Venus, Chang Hang Hao and Da Yu Xia carrying containers, white spirit, chemical, project cargo and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 136,371 tonnes comprising 106,281 tonnes of import cargo and 30,090 tonnes of export cargo including 3,016 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 106,281 tonnes includes 60,270 tonnes of furnace oil; 10,000 tonnes of palm oil; 7,967 tonnes of chemical and 28,044 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 30,090 tonnes includes 200 floating crane; 1,530 tonnes of cement and 29,260 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,016 containers comprising of 1,476 containers import and 1,540 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday. There was one ship namely MV Da Hua carrying general cargo sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while two ships namely CV MSC Tokomo and MT Chemroad Sea carrying containers and palm oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of seven vessels viz. CV Maersk Surabaya, CV MSC Tokomo, MV An African, MV Da Hua, MV Atlantic Glory, MT Quetta and MT Chemroad Sea currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, Project cargo, chemical, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as eight ships namely CV CMA CGM Nerval, MT Globe Tanya, MT Maria-III, MT White Purl, MT Harmony, MT Pvt Athend, MT Brizo and MT Bahra carrying containers, LPG, furnace oil and diesel oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Thursday. There were two vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Nerval and MT Globe Tanya carrying containers and LPG respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and SSGC LPG Terminal respectively on Thursday.
There were nine ships namely CV MSC Rachele, MV Thorco Arival, MV Thorco Attraction, MV Cash Chem Rhne, MV Georgia, MT Maran Gas Delfi, MT Al-Dasma, MT Brizo and MT Anka carrying containers, project cargo, chemical, canola seeds, LNG, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively due to arrive on Thursday. There are two ships namely CV San Felix and MV Diavolezza carrying containers and canola seeds respectively due to arrive on Friday.
