Pakistan's import of pulses shot up by over 32 percent to $288.607 million in July-November 2016, official figures say. Rise in the pulses import stands at $70.256 million in July-November 2016 from $218.351 million in July-November 2015, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics indicates. Pulses import's volume however plunged by seven percent or 23,765 metric tons to 341,245 metric tons in July-November 2016 from 365,010 metric tons in July-November 2015.
In November 2016, pulses import mounted by 45.26 percent or $6.002 million to $55.316 million from $61.318 million in November 2015. In term of quantity, pulses import scaled up by 14 percent or 8,393 metric tons to 69,711 metric tons in November 2016 from 61,318 metric tons in November 2015.
