The Karachi Port handled 76,024 tonnes of cargo comprising 65,856 tonnes of import cargo and 10,168 tonnes of export cargo including 3,900 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 65,856 tonnes comprised of 34,216 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,283 tonnes of general cargo; 15,357 tonnes of total bulk cargo and 13,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 10,168 tonnes comprised of 8,568 tonnes of containerised cargo and 1,600 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 3,900 containers comprising of 2,452 containers import and 1,448 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 966 of 20's and 651 of 40's loaded while 66 of 20's and 59 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 236 of 20's and 57 of 40's loaded containers while 174 of 20's and 462 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were ten ships namely Cosco Fukuyama, Fowairet, Mid Fortune, MT Lahore, Spottail, Al Mahboobah, Positive Brave, Paglia, Greener and Da Hua carrying containers, oil tankers, chemical, vehicle, steel and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were ten vessels viz. YM Enlightenment, MOL Explorer, Lissy Schulte, Hyundai Vancouver, KY Venus, Athina, Bremen Trader, Positive Brave, Paglia and Chang Hang Haohal carrying containers, oil tankers, vehicle and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were two ships namely Maraki-K and Da Yu Xia carrying meal and general cargo sailed out to sea on Monday, while another ship namely MOL Explorer carrying containers is expected to sail on Tuesday.
There were four vessels viz. Cosco Haifa, Taroko, Hammonia Virginia and Al Dasma carrying containers and oil tanker respectively due to arrive on Monday, while two vessels viz. Hasco Jade and Chipol Brok Star carrying general cargo and project cargo respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 103,350 tonnes comprising 57,104 tonnes of import cargo and 46,246 tonnes of export cargo including 3,647 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 57,104 tonnes includes 25,530 tonnes of furnace oil; 11,085 tonnes of diesel oil; 5,220 tonnes of canola seeds; 292 tonnes of LPG; 3,015 tonnes of chemical and 23,047 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 46,246 tonnes includes 46,246 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,647 containers comprising of 1,213 containers import and 2,434 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. There were four ships namely CV Hermes, CV Express Black Sea, MT Gas Chem Rhone and MT PVT Athena carrying containers, LPG and furnace oil respectively expected to sail on Monday morning. A total number of eight vessels viz. CV MSC Rachele, CV Hermes, CV Express Black Sea, MT Gas Chem Rhone, Diavolezza, MV Mariman, MT Maria-III and MT Pvt Athend currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, rice, canola seeds, chemical, LPG and furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as eight ships namely CV Najran, MV Georgia, MV Black Purl, MT Gemini Gas, MT White Purl, MT Harmony, MT Brizo and MT Bahra carrying containers, canola seeds, LPG, furnace oil and diesel oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Monday.
There was one vessels viz. CV Najran carrying containers expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Monday. There were seven ships namely CV Maersk Gibraltar, CV MSC Busan, MT Maran Gas Delfi, MT Bremen Trader, MT Al-Dasma, MT Brizo and MT Anka carrying containers, LNG, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively due to arrive on Monday. There are three ships namely CV CMA CGM Themes, CV Maersk Kensington and MV Thorco Attraction carrying containers and project cargo respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
