Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani said that as the Muslim scientists always led the world in the field of scientific inventions, the Pakistani traders and industrialists need to develop expertise in the field of branding to come to par in the global economic competition.
While, addressing at the Awards Distribution Ceremony of Brand of the Year Award 2015-16 held at Karachi Monday, Chairman Senate appreciated the efforts being made for promotion of Pakistani brands and said that these kinds of efforts and events would help to promote the local brands on international front. He also distributed Brands of the Year Award 2015-16 among 150 brands.
Addressing the ceremony, S M Munir CEO Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) said that Brand development was a tedious and time consuming task and had become a necessity, which if not enforced would result in loss of market share of Pakistani industrialists and traders.
He announced that TDAP would establish a specialised independent committee for Brand Development Advisory. The committee would comprise of CEO Brands Foundation Shaikh Rashid Alam and R&D experts from FPCCI. Committee would formulate a comprehensive plan while considering the advances in the field of branding and would propose way forward.
Newly elected President of FPCCI Zubair Tufail said that he had been a part of the Brands of the year award since its inception and can proudly say that these awards were the pioneers in terms of popularity and acknowledgement as far as any awards in Pakistani business community were concerned.
President Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry Shamim Ahmed Firpo said that winning brand awards was undoubtedly a significant achievement for any business organisation and every year the special focus was placed on transparency and authenticity of awards.
While addressing the audience, Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig said that he was proud to be a part of the brands of the year award every year and was a firsthand witness of the fact that Brand Foundation was excelling in every profession in regards to its work and standard, achieving new milestones every now and then, and the credit for these successes went to the organization's young visionary leadership of Rashid Alam and his entire team.
During his welcome note, Founder and CEO Brands Foundation, Rashid Alam, said that this year the award had been distributed in different categories, to those national and international organisations who had come to par to the expectations of consumers and experts alike.
He demanded that government of Pakistan should start the work on Brand Development in the Ministry of Commerce on a war footing basis, and every concerned government organisation should be lined up for this initiative, so that the Prime Minister's vision of 2025 could come to being for Pakistan.

Khawaja, Chairman (ABAD) Mohsin Sheikhani, President IPA Pakistan Tarik Feroz, renowned industrialist Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Nawab of Junagarh Muhammed Jahangir Khanji, Chairman NDF Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad and others were also present at the annual award distribution ceremony.-PR
