Child maid: Christian lawyer welcomes suo motu action

Christian Lawyer and Human Rights Activist Jacqueline Sultan on Thursday welcomed the suo moto action by the Chief Justice, Supreme Court of Pakistan of child maid's alleged torture. She said as per report the owners of the house would usually lock her up in a storeroom at night besides starving and beating her up. Police has already questioned the judge' wife but she was not formally charged.
She said it is important that there should be a strict enforcement of Law. She said there should be constant monitoring and every such child who is employed needs to be registered with some authority, govt functionaries are to do surprise visit and violations need to be taken seriously and culprits needs to be punished.
