Some mothers of martyred students of Army Public School (APS) Peshawar have demanded of the government to extend the military courts period, instead of closing them. They viewed the terrorism activities had considerably declined due to effective functioning of the military courts during last three years.
Addressing a news conference organised by APS Shuhada Forum at Press Club on Wednesday, a mother of martyred APS student Asfand said it was inevitable to give further extension to military courts, to bring the perpetrators of the gruesome Peshawar attack to justice. She said Peshawar attack had united nation against terrorism, after which government had set up military courts to dismantle sanctuaries of the militants groups and to restore the everlasting peace in the country.
Flanked by mothers of martyred Osama, Shaheer, Mobeen, and mother of martyred APS school teacher, and other parents, she said terrorism acts had considerably been declined following the establishment of military courts. She further added that peace had been restored to some extent, because of matchless sacrifices by schoolchildren and security forces. "We will not forgive blood of our children, until the involved people in APS episode bring to justice," she said. Mother of Asfand said: "We will not allow further to scoring political point over blood of our innocent children. Politicians' children are studying abroad; they are regardless about the future of our children in the country, which will be sheer injustice with not only martyred children of APS, but also rest of nation."
The parents have asked the government and politicians to refrain from any step, which could damage the future of their children. They said people against the extension in military courts period were not sincere to get rid the country from the menace of terrorism and internal strife. "We want sincere leadership and better future of our children," they said.
