Nisar rejects transfer summary of DIG

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday rejected the summary of transfer of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Kashif Alam, who is heading the committee probing Tayyaba torture case.
According to an official, the interior minister has rejected the summary of transfer of Kashif Alam and issued directives that he will remain in Islamabad. The Inspector General of Police (IGP) does not have the authority to transfer high officials, he said.
Alam is heading the committee formed to probe into the Tayyaba torture case. The committee includes DSP Bashir Noon, SHO Khalid Awan and Inspector Bashir.
He said that Alam was transferred from National Police Academy and was appointed as DIG in September last year.
