Ambassador of Morocco Mohmed Karmoune has said that exchange of trade delegation between his country and Pakistan is essential to identify the trade potential for the expansion of bilateral trade. He expressed these views at Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) where he visited to felicitate the newly-elected president and office bearers of the FPCCI.
The ambassador emphasised on the need of further better trade in different areas.
He informed that the Mango Festivals were held in 5 different cities for the first time in Morocco from August 7th to 8th last year. Fruit festival by the Embassy of Pakistan in Morocco from 22nd - 30th October, 2016 was also a great success.
Aamer Ata Bajwa, senior vice president of FPCCI, appreciated Mohmed Karmoune's offer to Pakistan for working together to exploit economic opportunities.
"Our investors and businessmen are willing to exploit the opportunities being offered by Morocco," he said proposing that both countries should arrange single country exhibition on reciprocal basis.
Chief Executive TDAP, S.M. Muneer, assured Morocco ambassador that TDAP would soon organize a single country exhibition in Morocco to introduce traditional and non-traditional goods to boost exports to mutual benefits.
FPCCI vice president, honorary Consul General of Morocco and chairman of Pakistan-Morocco Business Council of FPCCI, Ishtiaq Baig, said that at present volume of bilateral trade between the two countries is only US$14 million. He said Pakistan would like to increase its exports in coming years. He said that Pakistan-Morocco Joint Business Council has been facilitating the business community of the two countries to expand trade with each other.
He proposed that a joint ministerial meeting was long overdue for the last many years hence he expressed hope that both governments would hold this meeting at the earliest.
