Sindh Minister for Education, Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar on Thursday excused from announcing further winter vacations in cold weather because of loss of education. He stated this while responding to a request of Opposition Leader in the Sindh Assembly, Khawaja Izharul Hassan, for announcing further winter vacations and changing the schedule of Summer and Winter vacations in the future due to changing climate, on the floor of the Sindh Assembly House.
"If further vacations are announced then half-year will be counted only the period of vacations", he said.
Jam further said that out of 365 days of the year 122 days are already being enjoyed by the students as vacations in the education department.
Giving reason of student's loss of education, he excused to announce further vacations. He said that in some areas of Punjab temperature was recorded minus two but even then students are going to schools there.
Jam further said that a committee has been constituted to review vacations and other different matters including non-fixed holidays and to extend morning timings in schools as students can easily reach their school in winter or summer seasons.
