Faisal Rashid Mayor of Warrington (UK) paid a brief visit to Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) and discussed various issues of mutual interest.
He said that he has been elected from a city in which there are only 2 percent Pakistanis. Mr Faisal Rashid is an expatriate Pakistani belongs to Faisalabad. He had been settled in Warrington for the last many years and is now actively contributing his role in the overall development of the city he settled in. He has been elected for this prestigious post only due to his excellent community services. Faisal Rashid said that he is trying to promote bilateral trade between Faisalabad and Warrington in addition to promoting community level relations between the two cities. He also expressed satisfaction over the election of two engineers for the representative trade body of Faisalabad (FCCI). He said that no doubt whey would fully exploit their potential of head and heart to serve the business community in addition to discharging their Social Corporate Responsibilities. He also hoped that the elders of two cities will take measures to exchange delegations. "It will help Faisalabad to enhance its exports to Warrington in addition to understanding the role of local community of Warrington in the overall development of this town.
Earlier, Engineer Muhammad Saeed Sheikh President FCCI welcomed Faisal Rashid and said that it is very encouraging that he has been elected purely on merit by the majority of local communities other than Pakistanis. He told that previous Mayor had generated funds of only £6000 pounds while Faisal Rashid set a new record of collecting more than £56000 pounds for the uplift of Warrington. He also briefed him about the social corporate responsibilities and said that FCCI members are generously contributing their role particularly in the health and education sectors.
President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Engineer Muhammad Saeed Sheikh also presented FCCI shield to Faisal Rashid while Faisal Rashid also gave away a special memento of Warrington to VP Engineer Ahmad Hasan.
