The Visa Officer and Airline Liaison Officer of Republic of Germany, Eckhard Curschmann and Mario Kohn, visited Pakistan Sports Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PSGMEA) on Wednesday afternoon to discuss certain issues pertaining to German visa.
Chairman PSGMEA Khuram Aslam while addressing the participants of workshop informed the house that Pakistan Sports Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association was established in 1945 by the prominent manufacturers of Sports Goods in Sialkot a few years before the creation of Islamic Republic of Pakistan
He said that Pakistan and Germany are enjoying highly cordial friendly relations since long and Pakistan was among first Asian countries to establish relations with Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany). PSGMEA Chairman further said that relations between Pakistan and Germany are based on shared values of democracy, pluralism, and respect for human rights, cultural and religious diversity and economic liberalism.
Khuram further stated that it is high time that both the countries should focus on broadening the scope of mutual cooperation by extending it to the areas of trade, especially in Sports Goods Sector. To ensure progress in this regard he suggested that rapid interaction between PSGMEA and of the German embassy direly needed office which will act as resource base for exchanging information. Exchange of trade delegations and holding of joint trade exhibitions would surely help in promoting bilateral trade.
He said that there was great demand of Pakistani products like Sports Goods, Surgical Instruments, Leather Products, Gloves of all sorts, Textiles Items, Sports Wear, Martial Arts Uniforms and Accessories etc in German market.
The development of cottage industries in Sialkot has assumed a role model status for the developing world. The city is sprinkled with thousands of small and medium enterprises, which are engaged in honouring their global commitments he said. Expressing with hope PSGMEA Chairman said that participants of the workshop will be able to perceive message in a better way which will surely enable them to fill their visa applications in proper way.
