The Karachi Port handled 214,073 tonnes of cargo comprising 180,903 tonnes of import cargo and 33,170 tonnes of export cargo including 6,640 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 180,903 tonnes comprised of 52,240 tonnes of containerised cargo; 48,208 tonnes of bulk cargo: 32,387 tonnes of coal; 7,926 tonnes of DAP; 1,399 tonnes of soyabean meal; 6,496 tonnes of rock phosphate and 80,455 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 33,170 tonnes comprised of 27,744 tonnes of containerised cargo; 126 tonnes of general cargo and 5,300 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 6,640 containers comprising of 3,226 containers import and 3,414 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,322 of 20's and 875 of 40's loaded while 04 of 20's and 75 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 780 of 20's and 231 of 40's loaded containers while 638 of 20's and 767 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were six ships namely Vecchio Bridge, Ever Diamond, Kota Karim, Sea Crystal, IVS Gleneagles and Storm Rider carrying containers, chemical, coal and steel respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were six vessels viz. Kota Karim, Vania, Cosco Haifa, CTG Bismuth, Al Yasat-II and Nowowiejski carrying containers, oil tanker, rock phosphate and general cargo respectively currently at the berths. There were five ships namely Vania, Taroko, YM Enlightenment, MT Quetta and Alam Molek carrying containers, oil tanker and coal respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday, while three ships namely Sima Giselle, Everrich-5 and Marylaki carrying containers, oil tanker and DAP respectively are expected to sail on Friday.
There was one vessel viz. Wan Hai-511 carrying containers due to arrive on Thursday while six vessels viz. Sabya, Cora, Najdiah, Leader Da Kang and Mandarin Sky carrying containers, oil tankers, mogas and project cargo respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 126,021 tonnes comprising 81,409 tonnes of import cargo and 44,612 tonnes of export cargo including 3,758 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 81,409 tonnes includes 38,009 tonnes of furnace oil; 8,592 tonnes of palm oil; 3,595 tonnes of LPG; 4,423 tonnes of clinker and 26,790 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 44,612 tonnes includes 44,612 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,758 containers comprising of 1,410 containers import and 2,348 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
There was one ship namely CV Maersk Kinloss carrying containers sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while three ships namely CV UASC Al Khor, MT North Gas and MT Brizo carrying containers, LPG and furnace oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day.
A total number of eight vessels viz. CV Maersk Surabaya, CV Maersk Kinloss, CV UASC Al Khor, MV Zealand Driane, MT Black Pearl-110, MT North Gas, MT Brizo and MT Lime Galaxy currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, clinker, LPG, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as thirteen ships namely CV MSC Veronique, MV Zhe Hua-15, MV FPMCP Fortune, MV T Prime, MT Maria-III, MT Truck Gas, MT Nordic Gas, MT Gas Lion, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Distya Amiya, MT Ashada, MT Arietis and MT Pacific Energy carrying containers, barges, chemical, steel coil, LPG, diesel oil and furnace oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three vessels viz. CV MSC Veronique, MV T Prime and MT Arietis carrying containers, steel coil and furnace oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Iron Ore & Coal Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday.
There were nine ships namely CV MSC Elma, CV MSC Messina, MV Astraea, MT Maran Posidonia, MT Bneider, MT Bunga Alamanda, MT Navig-8 Aquamarine, MT Chemroad Mega and SC Beihai carrying containers, canola seeds, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively due to arrive on Thursday, while two more ships namely CV Atacama and CV Uni Florida carrying containers respectively are due to arrive on Friday.
