Sindh chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah decided on Friday to upgrade 10 technical institutions, two in each division, to impart quality education. He was presiding over a meeting on STEVTA at the Chief Minister's House. The meeting was attended by special assistant on STEVTA Shahid Thaheem, the secretary of universities and boards, Naveed Shaikh, secretary of colleges Riaz Memon, secretary of social welfare Niaz Abbasi, secretary of IT Pervaiz Sihar, and the managing director of STEVTA, Rafique Burioro.
Rafiq Buriro told the chief minister said that there were 2800 technical institution in the province where technical education and training in different trades is imparted. The chief minister said that in the first phase he wants to establish 10 state-of-the-art technical institutes to offer quality education and produce students who can earn a good name for themselves and their institutions.
Each division will have two institutions. He asked the secretary of universities and boards to upgrade the existing institutions by giving them good faculties and job-oriented technical courses.
The chief minister also directed the STEVTA administration to introduce Chinese language courses. Under CPEC and non-CPEC projects thousands of Chinese are going to invest in Sindh, and therefore Chinese will turn out to be an additional qualification for jobs.
Concluding the meeting the chief minister said that he would be visiting technical centers working all over Sindh.
