5 security personnel were seriously injured in a blast that occurred while they attempted to defuse a bomb in Mamond tehsil of the troubled Bajaur Agency on Sunday. According to the Bajaur political administration, the security personnel were defusing the 2 bombs recovered from Damadola area of Bajaur today afternoon. The administration said that personnel defused one bomb successfully, however while defusing the second; bomb went off leaving 5 personnel critical injured.
The injured personnel were shifted to Peshawar for medical treatment. Security forces have launched search operation in the area.
Similarly, at least 2 young shepherds were killed and a child injured when a toy bomb exploded they were playing with in Buner district on Sunday.
According to police officials, 2 young brothers along with other children were grazing sheep in mountains Khaista village of Dewana Baba when they found a toy bomb.
The unlucky young shepherds started playing with the toy and it exploded with a big bang. 2 of them identified as Sultan Zaib, 18 and Gul Zada, 15, killed on the spot while the third one who is stated to be a young girl sustained injuries and was taken to nearby hospital. Police said that they are investigating the incident.
