The Karachi Port handled 136,879 tonnes of cargo comprising 124,984 tonnes of import cargo and 11,895 tonnes of export cargo including NA loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 124,984 tonnes comprised of 40,039 tonnes of containerised cargo; 16,480 tonnes of general cargo; 26,180 tonnes of bulk cargo: 17,363 tonnes of coal; 5,936 tonnes of soyabean meal; 2,881 tonnes of rock phosphate and 42,285 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 11,895 tonnes comprised of 10,206 tonnes of containerised cargo; 100 tonnes of general cargo and 1,589 tonnes of rice. There were three ships namely Hyundai Oakland, Cosco Haifa and Wan Hai-511 carrying containers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were eight vessels viz. X-Press Kailash, Adrian Schulte, MOL Explorer, MT Karachi, Najdiah, Liberty Pride, Magpie SW and Long Lucky carrying containers, oil tankers, vehicle and general cargo respectively currently at the berths. There were two ships namely FPMC P Glory and Leader carrying oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday.
There were two vessels viz. Crystal Sambu and Spar Apus carrying chemical and coal due to arrive on Tuesday while five vessels viz. Kota Kamil, Wan Hai-501, Maliakos, Bon Atlantico and BF Ayita carrying containers, chemical and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 114,499 tonnes comprising 65,517 tonnes of import cargo and 48,982 tonnes of export cargo including 3,621 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 65,517 tonnes includes 12,443 tonnes of furnace oil; 7,750 tonnes of palm oil; 15,940 tonnes of canola seeds; 200 tonnes of LPG; 8,730 tonnes of chemical; 1,637 tonnes of project cargo and 19,817 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 48,982 tonnes includes 48,982 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,621 containers comprising of 1,043 containers import and 2,578 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
There were two ships namely CV MSC Elma and MV YM Miranda carrying containers and chemical sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while three more ships namely CV Jazan, CV MSC Messina and MV Da Tuan Song carrying containers and project cargo respectively are expected to sail on the same day.
A total number of eight vessels viz. CV MSC Elma, CV Jazan, CV MSC Messina, MV YM Miranda, MV Da Tuan Song, MV Astraea SB, MT Arietis and MT SC Behai currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, chemical, project cargo, canola seeds, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as fourteen ships namely CV MSC Tokomo, CV Mataquito, CV Maersk Pittsburgh, MV Marco, MV Bunga Alamanda, MV FPMC Fortune, MT Maria-III, MT Khor Gas, MT Nordic Gas, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Ashada, MT Pacific Energy, MT Harmony-1 and MT Navig-8 Aqua Marine carrying containers, canola seeds, chemical, LPG, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV MSC Tokomo, CV Mataquito, CV Maersk Pittsburgh, MT Maria-III and MT Khor Gas carrying containers and LPG expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and SSGC LPG Terminal respectively on Tuesday. There were six ships namely CV CMA CGM Maersk, CV CMA CGM Nerval, MV Chance, MT Bunga Alamanda, MT Navig-B Aqua Marine and MT Chemroad Mega carrying containers, soyabean seeds, diesel oil and palm oil respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while two more ships namely CV Chastine Maersk and MT Bneider carrying containers and diesel oil respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.
