Chairman of the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) Mumbai India, Sudheendra Kulkarni said on Wednesday that it is difficult to isolate Pakistan rather it should be engaged in talks for the establishment of peace in the region. He was addressing the seminar organised by Beacon House National University. The seminar was also addressed by former foreign minister Khursheed Mahmood Kasuri, I. A. Rehman, Shafqat Mahmood and Hassan Askari Rizvi.
Kulkarni also said that information technology can be used for the benefit of teachers and students of India and Pakistan. He said teachers of Pakistan can guide Indian students by using information technology. He said students of both sides can use social media for establishing good relations with each other.
Earlier while addressing the lecture on "Pakistan - India Relations: Challenges and the Way Forward" organised by Punjab University Centre for South Asian Studies Sudheendra Kulkarni appreciated the University of the Punjab for having such a beautiful campus that is not available in whole of India. He said that both India and Pakistan have gained nothing from their rivalry. He said that partition of India and Pakistan was not a tragedy; the actual tragedy is how it happened. We should learn from our past, stop wars and violence and start dialogue with tolerance.
Vice chancellor Punjab University Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir said that although this region has a lot of resources yet it is the poorest region in the world having millions of people living below poverty line. To develop the region, we need peace that will be ensured through mutual dialogue. He said that India and Pakistan can resolve their issues only through mutual dialogue.
