'The decisive battle'

This is apropos aBusiness Recorder op-ed "The decisive battle" carried by the newspaper on Friday. The writer, Ikram Sehgal, who happens to be a seasoned defence analyst, has argued, among other things, that "General Qamar Javed Bajwa is belatedly finding out that maintaining a low profile can be counter-productive as perception is the reality. You must do the right thing but in this age of electronic images you have to be seen doing it."
Although it is generally argued that nation needs soldiers and politics needs civilians, his is not a wise counsel. Consider: General Bajwa is a highly professional soldier; his strength lies in his actions that he takes on the battlefield. His profession requires him to prove that his conduct is always guided by deep professional ethics.
No doubt, General Bajwa is the right man to lead the Pakistan army over the next three years. Maintaining a 'low' profile is General Bajwa's distinguished quality or characteristic. He must therefore continue to protect and preserve this trait of his personality. Actions speak louder than images.
