Heroin worth Rs 6.5 million seized

Model Customs Collectorate (MCC), Preventive on Tuesday claimed to have confiscated substantial quantity of heroin worth Rs 6.5 million from Saudi Arabia-bound passenger. According to details, the Preventive staff posted at Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) on a tip-off intercepted a passenger namely Javed Iqbal, who was leaving to Saudi Arabia via Saudi Airline flight No SV 707.
The staff after receiving refusal from passenger to have contraband item in his possession conducted a thorough examination of his luggage, which led the recovery of 650 grams crystal powder. The market value of seized contraband heroin is Rs 6.5 million. The drugs were concealed in the cavity of his brief case. Consequent upon the recovery, the case has been registered against him. Further investigation was underway.
