A child died and six others were injured when the roof of a dilapidated house collapsed in Ranchore Lane area, here on Thursday. Police and rescue sources said that the rusted iron roof of a double story house fell on the family living inside the building.
Following the incident, area residents immediately rushed to the site and rescued the victims and shifted them to nearby Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for treatment where an injured child succumbed to his wounds. Meanwhile, a woman namely Shahnaz, 50, wife of Muhammad Arif was stabbed to death in Kashmir Colony near Street No-5 that falls in the jurisdiction of Mehmoodabad police station. Police said that the incident might have been an outcome of a personal dispute. Police claimed to have arrested an accused Guddu and continued to investigate the case. The body of the victim was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for postmortem.
