Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) Punjab stood second at fifth International House Keeping Olympic Games (IHKOG) held at Antalya-Turkey. A group of five TEVTA teachers won the said position in a competition amongst 17 countries including Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Thailand, Singapore, Bhutan, Maldives and some other countries.
This was disclosed by Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh while addressing the TEVTA participants in the said competition in a meeting at TEVTA Secretariat. Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that we are proud on our Teachers success in the competition. Lecturer Govt. College of Technology for Women Lahore Saadia Syed, Chief Trade Instructor Govt. Technical Training Institute Gulberg Uzma Idrees, Instructor Govt. Technical Training Institute Multan Muhammad Waqas Mehmood and Junior Instructor Govt. College of Technology Rawalpindi Muhammad Attiq-ur-Rehman were selected out of 50 TEVTA teachers who were trained by Turkish International Co-operation Agency (TIKA) Turkey in hospitality sector at Lahore last year. Chairperson TEVTA further said that this international competition will elevate their position and broaden their exposure. Invitation of Turkish Govt. to TEVTA Teachers to participate in international event is a part of mutual co-operation between two countries. Turk Govt. has also provided latest machinery and equipment for newly established state of the art Govt. Institute of Emerging Technologies at Township, Lahore. Industrial stitching machine operator (Denim), Microsoft Certification, Professional Cooking and Chinese Language courses have successfully been started at the said Institute, he concluded.
