The Karachi Port handled 111,108 tonnes of cargo comprising 98,138 tonnes of import cargo and 12,970 tonnes of export cargo including 3,227 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 98,138 tonnes comprised of 22,864 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,101 tonnes of general cargo; 17,065 tonnes of bulk cargo: 6,750 tonnes of DAP; 2,799 tonnes of sunflower seeds; 2,394 tonnes of palm kernel expeller and 56,108 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 12,970 tonnes comprised of 6,626 tonnes of containerised cargo; 496 tonnes of general cargo; 2,048 tonnes of DAP and 3,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 3,227 containers comprising of 1,685 containers import and 1,542 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 493 of 20's and 561 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 35 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 139 of 20's and 89 of 40's loaded containers while 123 of 20's and 551 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were six ships namely Kota Kasturi, MSC Krittika, Northern Dependant, Adele Marina Rizzo, Chemway Lara and Chong Ming carrying containers, oil tankers and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were six vessels viz. Cosco Wellington, MOL Endowment, Xin Zhang Zhou, MT Quetta, UACC Shams and CTG Cobalt carrying containers and oil tankers respectively currently at the berths.
There are four ships namely Cosco Wellington, MOL Endowment, TEO and Yuan Hai carrying containers, DAP and general cargo respectively expected to sail on Saturday. There were four vessels viz. GH Seabiscuit, Selin-D, Spar Libra and Heilan Ewuilbrium carrying SB meal, molasses, coal and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Friday while six vessels viz. Polo, Prosper, Oriental Jasmine, Saehan Estrella, Kiran Caspian and Rainbow carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 76,141 tonnes comprising 52,429 tonnes of import cargo and 23,712 tonnes of export cargo including 2,227 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 52,429 tonnes includes 21,346 tonnes of diesel oil; 12,000 tonnes of palm oil; 482 tonnes of LPG and 18,601 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 23,712 tonnes includes 23,712 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,227 containers comprising of 979 containers import and 1,248 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There were two ships namely MT Maria-III and MT Al-Soor-II carrying LPG and diesel oil sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while two more ships namely CV CMA CGM Corneille and MT Straum carrying containers and palm oil are expected to sail on the same day.
A total number of six vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Corneille, CV MSC Silvana, MT Nordic Gas, MT Maria-III, MT Al-Soor-II and MT Straum currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as eleven ships namely CV Tolten, MV Chance, MV Gas Chem Antarctic, MT Ardmore Sealion, MT Ghetty Bottiglieri, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Karachi, MT Pacific Energy, MT Harmony-1, MT Shalamar and MT Grand Ace-12 carrying containers, canola seeds, chemical, mao gas, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV Maersk Innoshima, CV Tolten, MT Al-Saad, MT Pacific Energy and MT Grand Ace-12 carrying containers, LNG, furnace oil and palm oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Friday.
There were eight ships namely CV Maersk Innoshima, CV MSC Rachele, CV MSC Joanna, CV Sea Hymn, MV Fu Ming, MV Pacific Award, MT Al-Saad and MT Torm Valborg carrying containers, project cargo, coal, LNG and furnace oil respectively due to arrive on Friday. There is one ship namely CV Hermes carrying containers due to arrive on Saturday, while another ship namely NYK Furano carrying containers due to arrive on Sunday.
