Prices of daily use items including pulses, vegetable, chicken, eggs, sugar, flour have witnessed a mixed trend during the past week as compared to the preceding week, reveals a survey carried out by Business Recorder here on Sunday.
In a visit to local market in provincial capital here, it was noticed that the price of one-kilogram good quality rice has increased from Rs.105/- to Rs.115/- while toota rice is stable as available at Rs.50 per kilogram. Price of Dal mash has also declined slightly, as being sold at Rs.170 per kilogram, against selling price of Rs.180 per kg during the preceding week.
Likewise, according to survey a visible decrease in rate of Dal masoor was witnessed in retail market which is available at Rs.100 per kilogram, against the Rs.140 per kg, while one kilogram Dal channa is being sold at Rs.140/- which was selling at Rs.170 per kg.
It was noticed that price of sugar has also decreased in retail market as available at Rs.60/- per kilogram, which was selling at Rs.65/- per kg, whereas rate of gram flour (baisen) has gone up from Rs.140 per kilogram to Rs.160 per kg in retail market.
According to survey, Dal green priced at Rs.120 per kilogram, which was selling at Rs.140 per kg, whereas big kabali white channa is available at Rs.185 per kg, against the selling price of Rs.170per kg during the preceding week. Price of red bean has increased to Rs.135 per kilogram, which was selling at Rs. 100 and Rs.110 per kg to Rs120 per kg preceding week in retail market, white lobiya available at Rs.120 per kilogram, moonge price had come down to Rs.120 per kilogram from Rs.140 per kg in retail market.
The survey further revealed that the prices of ghee/cooking oil of different brands and companies remain stable in retail market as available within range of Rs.140/- Rs.155 and Rs.170 per kilogram/litre.
Similarly, prices of garlic and ginger, which is mostly used item of kitchen, have soared up in retail market, which being sold at Rs.400 per kilogram and Rs.120 per kilogram respectively, the survey noticed.
Price of one-kilogram tomato has increased to Rs.50/- which was selling at Rs.30 per kilogram in the preceding week, while the big size onion is being sold at Rs.30, while small size at Rs.20 per kilogram in retail market.
According to the survey, the prices of other vegetable have remained unchanged and are available at reasonable price. Red potato is being sold at Rs.40 per kilogram, while white color potato available at Rs.20 per kilogram.
Peas are being sold at Rs.150 per kilogram, arvi at Rs.70 per kilogram, capsicum at Rs.100 per kilogram, turnip at Rs.20 per kilogram, cucumber at Rs.40 per kg, calabash at Rs.50 per kg, the survey noticed.
The survey witnessed that one-kilogram chicken priced at Rs.151 in retail market, while price of a dozen of farm eggs has decreased to Rs.100 and Rs.90 from Rs.120 in retail market. Cow meat is being sold at Rs.340 per kilogram, while mutton available at Rs.700 per kilogram.
The fruits, which is staple food, are available at high price, as one-kilogram golden apple being sold at Rs.200/- and while red color apple available within range of Rs.100 and Rs.80 per kilogram. Guava being sold at Rs.50 per kilogram, pomegranate available at Rs.120 and Rs.100 per kilogram, a dozen bananas are available at Rs.50 and Rs.40/- in retail market.
