Former President Asif Ali Zardari Wednesday said that his party is not in favor of referendum in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). While talking to media persons, Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPP-P) President Asif Ali Zardari said that FATA should be merged into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK). He said that the government should present FATA reforms in the Parliament for discussion. He said that his party would support the FATA reforms in the parliament.
He said, "FATA reforms are ours, as they were Shaheed Benazir Bhutto's desire, and for the first time our government had appointed the governor of KP from FATA." He said that the political forces should be taken into confidence about FATA reforms. He said that his party would raise voice for the rights of FATA people.
Answering a question, Zardari said that the issue of Panama Leaks would be discussed after the judgment of Supreme Court of Pakistan. Meanwhile Asif Ali Zardari Wednesday arrived at the residence of Former Federal Minister and senior PPP leader Lal Khan in Bani Gala near Islamabad to condole the death of his wife. Zardari was accompanied by President PPPP KPK Humayun Khan, General Secretary KPK Faisal Kundi, ex-MNA Noor Alam Khan, Senator Sardar Ali Khan, and Senator Qayyum Soomro, ex-MNA Malik Azmat, Political Secretary Rukhsana Bangash, Fouzia Habib and Senator Farhatullah Babar. Zardari offered Fateha for the departed soul.
