The Convocation of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences Jamshoro for the graduates of Nursing, Physiotherapy and Biomedical Engineering was held on Friday. While delivering the welcome address the Vice Chancellor LUMHS Professor Noshad A Shaikh told that today 383 undergraduate nurses and 10 postgraduate nurses will be awarded degrees and diplomas for their achievements.
The University is also awarding degrees to 36 doctors of Physiotherapy, 17 transitional DPT, 35 Bio Medical Engineers and 3 diplomas to radio-therapists. The future of the graduates is bright without any doubt as they are equipped with nursing education, physiotherapy, biomedical engineering and radiotherapy skills which are the most emerging and cutting edges educational set up world over.
He added that Physiotherapy is a rewarding career and the course develops contemporary knowledge and skills to promote physical, physiological and social integration by delivering safe and effective care. A good physiotherapeutic practice develops a holistic approach, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with patients, their families and other healthcare professionals to support rehabilitation. Likewise, biomedical engineers and radiotherapists combine engineering principles with medical and biological sciences to design and create equipment's, devices, computer systems and software used in healthcare.
The Vice Chancellor encouraged all young nurses, doctors of physiotherapy, bioengineers and radiotherapist to carry on their journey of learning and endeavour and believe in persistence as they about to join a second family the alumni of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences that have been serving the humanity worldwide.
The Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor of Peoples University of Medical and Health Sciences Shaheed Benazirabad, Professor Dr Azam Hussain Yousafani expressed that today is truly a momentous day in the lives of new graduates, a day of celebrations that they will look back on and remember always. Liaquat University of medical and health sciences is a place of transformation. Place where lives are changed. Place where knowledge is made and the futures are invented. As you leave this convocation ceremony you will carry the good name of this Institution with you everywhere you go. But you also need to be motivated to serve the ailing humanity with compassion, empathy and kindness. Always ask yourself just one simple question that how you could make the lives of millions of sick people worth living again.
