The Karachi Port handled 173,504 tonnes of cargo comprising 153,730 tonnes of import cargo and 19,774 tonnes of export cargo including 6,906 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 153,730 tonnes comprised of 62,353 tonnes of containerised cargo; 7,443 tonnes of general cargo; 19,966 tonnes of bulk cargo: 19,106 tonnes of coal; 860 tonnes of soyabean meal and 63,968 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 19,774 tonnes comprised of 13,339 tonnes of containerised cargo; 200 tonnes of general cargo; 4,235 tonnes of urea and 2,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 6,906 containers comprising of 4,568 containers import and 2,338 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 1,447 of 20's and 1,376 of 40's loaded while 191 of 20's and 89 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 334 of 20's and 216 of 40's loaded containers while 420 of 20's and 576 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were six ships namely BMS Libra, NYK Furano, Taroko, Karina Danica, Snow Ploeg, Grand Quest and Amber Champion carrying containers, oil tanker, vehicle and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were five vessels viz. BMS Libra, Polo, Ever Divine, KMTC Mumbai and MT Navig-8 Spark carrying containers and oil tanker respectively currently at the berths.
There were four ships namely Ital Milione, Shalamar, Al-Salam-II and BW Amazon carrying containers and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea on Wednesday. There were four vessels viz. Wan Hai-501, Kota Kasturi, Stentor and Common Spirit carrying containers, rice and coal respectively due to arrive on Wednesday while four vessels viz. Bodo Schulte, MT Lahore, Duzgit Integrity and Hanover Trader carrying containers, oil tanker and chemical respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 147,883 tonnes comprising 135,267 tonnes of import cargo and 12,616 tonnes of export cargo including 4,679 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 135,267 tonnes includes 14,767 tonnes of diesel oil; 17,654 tonnes of canola seeds; 5,773 tonnes of chemical; 20,788 tonnes of coal and 76,285 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 12,616 tonnes includes 12,616 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 4,679 containers comprising of 4,015 containers import and 664 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
There were three ships namely CV MSC Pina, MV Ikan Senyur and MT Sea Delta carrying containers, coal and chemical respectively sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another ship namely CV Northern Monument carrying containers is expected to sail on the same day.
A total number of eight vessels viz. CV MSC Pina, CV UASC Al-Khor, CV Northern Monument, MV Saratov, MV Ikan Senyur, MV Bottiglieri Ambition, MV Sea Delta and MT Bneider currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, canola seeds, chemical and diesel oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as ten ships namely MV BBC Maine, MV Trade UN, MV Wel Hero, MV Aeo Los, MT Al Dasma, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Serengeti, MT Navig-8 Executive, MT CH Zephyr and MT Adele Marine Rizzo carrying project cargo, canola, coal, diesel oil and furnace oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three vessels viz. CV Maersk Stockholm, CV MSC Valencia and MV BBC Maine carrying containers and project cargo respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Wednesday. There were five ships namely CV Maersk Stockholm, CV MSC Valencia, MV Qing Hua Shan, MV Jin Yu Shan and MT Serengeti carrying coal and diesel oil respectively due to arrive on Wednesday. There is one ship namely MV Calimero carrying coal due to arrive on Thursday.
