Controversy gripped the decoration of pro-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif banners in the city that led to tabling of a resolution by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Punjab Assembly. It may be noted that banners favouring Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have been put in place across the city a day before the verdict of Supreme Court of Pakistan on the Panamagate scandal case.
A slogan of 'Quaid Tera Aik Ishara, Hazir Hazir Lahu Hamara' has been inscribed on these banners in the constituency of Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique. Pictures of Khawaja Saad Rafique, MPA Yasin Sohal and MPA Mian Naseer were also part of the banners with a large size portrait of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Commenting on the banners, the citizens remarked, "The banners are visually very good but the slogans written on them do not impart a positive message under the present circumstances".
