Muhammad Ammad, Humam Ahmad, Noor Zaman, Uzair Shoukat and Laiba Ijaz clinched the trophies of the various categories of Hero's of Nawa Khali Junior Boys and Girls Squash Championship titles, here at PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex on Thursday.
Muhammad Ammad recorded a thumping victory against his arch rival Hamza Niaz in the Under-13 category final in a thrilling 3-2 battle lasted for 48 minutes. Muhammad Ammad, the current Pakistan No. 1 ranking, lost the first and second sets against Hamza at 10-12 and 8-11 but he staged a strong comeback and recorded three consecutive victories at 12-10, 11-9 and 11-7.
Muhammad Ammad of PAF played well and did not give much time after losing the first two sets to promising Hamza in the thrilling five sets battle.
In the Under-11 final Pakistan No. 1 Humam Ahmad of PAF defeated Sheraz Akbar by 3-1 in another thrilling match, the score was 11-9, 10-12, 11-7 and 11-6. Humam played well and did not give much time to Sheraz Akbar to settle down in the thrilling final.
Earlier, Humam Ahmad also defeated Yasin Khattak in the first semi-final by 3-2, the score was 12-10, 13-11, 10-12, 9-11 and 12-10 while Sheraz Akhbar beat Talha by 3-0, the score was 11-7, 11-5 and 11-8.
In the Under-15 category Noor Zaman upset international Asad Ullah by 3-2 in a thrilling match. Noor Zaman entered as second seed defeated first seed Asad Ullah by 12-10, 11-7, 9-11, 10-12 and 11-9.
In the Under-17 category Uzair Shoukat beat Saqib Iqbal by 3-1, the score was 11-9, 8-11, 12-10 and 11-6. International Uzair Shoukat, the top seed, did not look behind and toppled Saqib by 3-1.
In the Girls final top seed Laiba Ijaz defeated Nimra Aqeel by 3-1, the score was 7-11, 11-9, 12-10 and 11-8. Laiba Ijaz played well and give no time to Nimra Aqeel to strike back. Earlier, Nimra Aqeel beat Eman Khan by 3-1 and Laiba recorded victory against Hira.
