Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Friday that no one should do politics over the court's decision in the Panamagate case. "No further courts should be held to make comments over the verdict," the interior minister told a press conference here. Some elements had been presenting weird logics for their political objectives. The judges did express dissent on the decision. However, the judgement is unanimous; therefore, giving an impression of 2-3 is not true.
Nisar said the government would implement the judgement in letter and spirit. He said the decision of Supreme Court must be accepted by everyone and there should be no "trial of the verdict". He said that people are advancing strange and illogical arguments on the verdict of the apex court. Chaudhry Nisar said the Panamagate case is still sub judice, as JIT is being formed for further investigation. He said the court will give its final verdict on the basis of evidence and not allegations. He said all the five judges were unanimous about formation of the JIT.
The Minister said the opposition has repeatedly been demanding formation of the JIT but now some of them are objecting to it. He expressed surprise that leader of a party with proverbial corruption record is giving sermons on corruption. Replying to a question, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan expressed the hope that he will get report on the Dawn Leaks on Monday or Tuesday next and it would then be submitted to the Prime Minister.
About Karachi situation, he said peace in the city has been restored and today's Karachi is better than that of 2013. He said that after every three months questions are raised by the provincial government on the performance of the Rangers. Stating that judicial decisions are never taken on the basis of one's wishes, Chaudhry Nisar said that the case required further investigation.
"The stance of the Prime Minister and his family is that they possessed assets abroad," said Nisar. "Nawaz Sharif and his family bought some flats in London," he added. "That Asif Zardari is lecturing others on Articles 62, 63 is a sign of the end of times," he said and added that Zardari giving a lecture to the nation on the subject of transparency." The Interior Minister, however, agreed with PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari that it was premature to distribute sweets at the moment. "I agree with Zardari, now is not the time to distribute sweets. A full judicial decision has yet to be reached," he said.
