Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to file a reference against chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) with Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) with a plea to remove him after apex court's remarks against him during hearing of Panama Papers case. Speaking at a presser, PTI Spokesman Fawad Chaudhry said that the party will file a reference against the chairman NAB under Article 209 of the Constitution, as he hand in gloves with the government is protecting the rulers' corruptions.
The apex court in its verdict in Panama Leaks case has tasked NAB and other investigating agencies to probe the alleged corruption of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family, which, the PTI leader said, top the top anti-graft body cannot undertake. "The NAB chairman is not trustworthy as he is protecting the corruption of his masters who had handpicked him, so we are going to file a reference against with SJC to remove him as soon as possible," said Fawad. Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, a former bureaucrat was appointed as chairman of the top anti-graft body by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in consultation with Opposition Leader in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah - a constitutional procedure for appointment of chairman NAB.
Fawad stated that PTI has full confidence in the apex court, which will do justice in the reference which the party is going file against NAB chief, as he has simply destroyed the institution to protect the corruption of rulers. Fawad called for the resignation of Nawaz Sharif on moral grounds, saying he has lost the moral authority to stay in office. The apex court rejected the defense of Nawaz Sharif and declared him dishonest, he added. He stated that Nawaz Sharif and his children will appear before JIT just like Uzair Baloch and other serial killer terrorists appear before the JITs, so let the world see the Premier calling his subordinates, 'my lord.'
