Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Limited has launched its All-new BR-V-2017 model at a ceremony held here on Friday. Speaking at the launching ceremony, the Honda Atlas Cars' President and Chief Executive Officer, Toichi Ishiyama said that the All-new BR-V is going to set higher benchmarks in the automobile industry. Pakistan is a key market for Honda and as a part of our business expansion; we are focusing on increasing our customer base by introducing new models.
The launch of BR-V creates another first by introducing first every locally produced 7 seater SUV (sport utility vehicle) in Pakistan. It is aimed at allowing people to live their dream of a happy family life, he said. Speaking on the occasion, Asian Honda Motor Company's President and Chief Executive Officer, Shinji Aoyama said that in the last financial year ended March 31, 2017, Honda Atlas Cars achieved the highest record sales with over 35,000 units sold which was a 37 percent increase over the previous fiscal year.
This achievement was the result of superb sales of our key models which are the City and Civic. Especially, the company sold more than 15,000 units of the All-new 10th generation Civic within six months since its launch in July 2016, building on the new Civic's historic sales record.
Honda R&D Asia Pacific, our regional R&D centre in the Asia and Oceania, developed the model to cater the needs of customers in the regions exclusively. The All-new BR-V responds to demands for bigger vehicles to accommodate larger-size families and a rapidly growing performance for SUV by customers in the regional and in Pakistan, he added.
