MacBook Air and more: Everything Apple unveiled at its event
Apple had a busy day yesterday unveiling its new products including the refreshed iPad Pro and MacBook Air at its event.
At its iPad event yesterday Apple unveiled new products, and as shown in rumors and leaks earlier, the firm introduced new iPad Pro, Mac mini, and MacBook Air along with other announcements. Here is a list of major announcements at Apple’s event.
MacBook Air
Apple’s MacBook Air got a new version with a third-generation butterfly keyboard, Retina display, Touch ID, bigger trackpad and built-in Siri. The device comes in with 16GB RAM and 1.5TB storage. Available for pre-order already, the new Retina MacBook Air is priced at $1,199 for the base model.
Mac Mini
Apple’s Mac mini was also revealed with faster performance, 64GB RAM or all-flash storage of up to 2TB storage, wrote The Verge. Starting at $799, the pre-orders for the device have already started and will start shipping from November 7.
iPad Pro
Apple refreshed its iPad Pro with new features including Face ID for which Apple removed the Home button. Apple claimed that the new iPad Pro is 35% faster with overall 1,000 times faster graphics as compared to predecessor. Like the Home button, Apple also killed the headphone jack in the new device. Pre-orders have already started with $799 for the 11-inch device and $999 for the 12.9-inch.
Apple Pencil 2 and Smart Keyboard
Apple also introduced its updated Apple Pencil 2 that attaches magnetically to the iPad Pro, also wirelessly charging the accessory. Apple increased the Apple Pencil 2 price from $99 to $129.
Also, the iPad Pro will be available with an optional Smart Keyboard that is also connected magnetically to the device. The Smart Keyboard is priced at $179 for the 11-inch and $199 for the 12.9-inch models.
iOS 12.1
Apart from its hardware announcements, new version of its operating software iOS 12.1 was also announced that comes in with Group FaceTime for chatting with up to 32 people at once, 70 new emojis, and dual SIM support for its new iPhone range, reported 9to5Mac.
Other than all the hardware and software announcements, Apple also announced its sustainability initiative, claiming that its new Mac product use 100% recycled aluminum, making them the greenest hardware products the company produces. Also, Apple will add 60 new sessions to its ‘Today at Apple’ in store teaching programs.
