President Mamnoon Hussain on Thursday said that Pakistan is committed to eradicate extremism and terrorism through National Action Plan (NAP) and Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad will continue till elimination of the last terrorist. The President expressed these views while talking to Italian Chief of Army Staff, General Danilo Errico who along-with a delegation called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr. The President stated that all countries in the world should join hands to combat terrorism as this menace has grown into a global problem.
The President highlighted Pakistan's commitment and performance in fight against terrorism and emphasised that Pakistan will continue to play its role in the war against terror. The President also mentioned that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Italy. He also pointed out that there is further need for co-operation in the field of joint defence. The President conveyed his gratitude for participation by Italian firms in development programme of Pakistan Navy.
Speaking on the occasion, Italian Chief of Army Staff, General Danilo Errico stated that, "The armed forces of both countries share the same values." He commended the role of Pakistan Army in the fight against terrorism for peace and stability in the region. He further said, "Co-operation between the militaries of the two countries will continue in future as well."
