Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad police have arrested a gang of five kidnappers along with their two facilitators receiving Rs 10 million as ransom amount and recovered weapons, land cruisers, jeeps and a car from them, a police spokesman said, says a press release issued here. According to details, some unidentified persons kidnapped Syed Akbar Khan s/o Aman Ullah Khan riding on a land cruiser at gun point on February 1, 2017 by stopping him at Fateh Jang Road.
The case was registered following this incident at Tarnol police station on February 3, 2017. The accused contacted father of abducted Syed Akbar Khan and demanded Rs 50 million from him. They sent one of their accomplices Ishaq to Afghanistan who used to call father of kidnapped person from there and finally it was agreed to pay Rs 10 million to release Syed Akbar.
They called the father of Syed Akbar at Peshawar and received the ransom amount and later left him at Daewwo Stand in Peshawar after 18 days. After information to police about this entire episode, SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani constituted a special team following directions of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Khalid Khatak to arrest the kidnappers.
This team headed by SP (Investigation) Muhammad Hassan Iqbal included DSP CIA Bashir Ahmed Noon, Inspector Muhammad Athar Khan, ASIs Suleman Shan, Gul Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed and Constables Moajiz Shah,Waseem Iqbal, Ali Asghar,Shahid Hyat and Imtiaz Ali.
This team used all available resources, adopted the proactive strategy and succeeded in arresting five kidnappers along with two facilitators. They have been identified as Momin Khan, Ibrar Uddin, Aurangzeb Khan, Ishaq Khan, Tariq Khan, Ali Haider and Dost Khan. Police team recovered three 30 bore pistols, 9MM, 25 rounds, two land cruisers vehicles, jeep and Suzuki Mehran car from them. The SSP Islamabad has appreciated this overall performance and announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for members of police team.-PR
