Workers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and those of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) confronted one another with slogans on Sunday outside Karachi Press Club (KPC). Activists of the two political organisations chanted slogans against one another in a standoff prompting the administration to deploy police at the press club.
Reportedly, workers of PTI had staged a protest at the site against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif causing supporters of PML-N to put up a confrontation to counter 'Go Nawaz Go' slogans. However, the situation remained under control plausibly owing to administration's timely call to police.
Reacting on workers' confrontation, Senator Nihal Hashmi of PML-N said that the federally ruling party is not going to allow hooliganism whereas Faisal Vawda said that the workers won't succumb to threats. He further said that PML-N would be responsible in case of a violent clash.
