A parliamentarian panel is likely to visit different borders of the country so as to interact and boost the morale of personnel of the armed forces deployed there. A meeting of National Assembly Standing Committee on Defence was held here on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Sheikh Rohale Asghar.
In his ruling, the committee chairman directed the Defence Ministry to arrange a visit for the members of the committee to the Line of Control (LoC), Siachen and North Waziristan Agency so that they could watch the situation and interact with the personnel of the armed forces deployed there in order to boost their morale.
The committee also considered 'The National University of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Bill, 2016' in detail and deferred it as the mover of the bill, Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, was not present in the meeting. The committee with a view to seeking point of view of the Higher Education Commission and Pakistan Medical and Dental Council on the bill decided to invite their representatives to its next meeting.
