Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) Chief Farooq Sattar on Friday welcomed Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) Chairman Afaq Ahmed's proposal of political reconciliation and said MQM-P would shun the politics of violence and not let repeat the politics of 90s. "Whoever, including Afaq Ahmed, would give positive statement, we will welcome him," he said talking to a private television channel.
He said the time of violence had gone and the way of reconciliation would have to be adopted now. He said whoever would talk about the rights of Mohajirs; we would shake hand with him. This should be noted that Afaq Ahmed on Thursday said the issues between MQM-H and MQM-P should be resolved through negotiations which would be a great way forward for Mohajir community. "The doors of talks should not be closed for personal gains. The division of Mohajirs is not acceptable. We can even do seat adjustment for the rights of Mohajirs in Karachi," he said. Afaq said if India and Pakistan could sit together for talks then why could Mohajirs among themselves?
