The Directorate General Customs Valuation (DGCV) has revised the customs values of milk preparation for infant under section 25(9) of the Customs Act. 1969. According to revised valuation, the Customs values of milk preparation for infant were earlier determined in 2013 and its addendum in 2014. Therefore, the customs values needed to be revised as per international price. Keeping the said in view, an exercise to determine the customs values of subject goods was initiated.
For the purpose, meetings for determination of customs values of milk preparation for infant were scheduled on January 03, 2017 and April 27, 2017 which were attended by stakeholders and representatives of importers. The current international prices of the subject goods were discussed with the stakeholders and they unanimously agreed that the values should be increased upwards rationally. The view point of all participants was heard in detail and considered to arrive at the assessable value of subject goods.
The market information and international prices through the internet were examined thoroughly. All gathered information was analyzed for determination of customs value of the subject good. Consequently, section 25(9) of the Customs Act 1969 was applied to arrive at assessable customs values of milk preparation for infant use.
