DIG for tight security arrangements before Ramzan

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Dr Haider Ashraf on Friday directed his subordinates to ensure foolproof security arrangements before the advent of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak. He said all the SHOs have been directed to finalise security arrangements of different Mosques, Imambargahs and other sensitive installations of the city with the help of local administration.
He said walkthrough gates, metal detectors and additional force will be deployed at every Mosque, Imambargah and other places. Police personnel should permit entry of every person after strict physical checking. He said that all the divisional SPs have also been directed to visit sensitive installations in their designated areas for finalising the security arrangements. Meanwhile, a police spokesman said that around six thousand police personnel had performed their duties during the Juma prayers.
