Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Monday said Sahiwal coal power project under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would be operational on May 20th. Addressing laptop distribution ceremony at Government College Women University he said that Sahiwal coal power project is first of its kind which completed under CPEC which will help in reducing load shedding.
The Chief Minister further stated that government was making strenuous efforts for the elimination of the menace of load shedding adding that work on various power projects is briskly underway. Shahbaz disclosed that government will distribute as many as 1.15 lakh laptops costing Rs 7 billion among the male and female students.
The PML-N government was making all out efforts for ensuring quality education both for male and female students and deserving students were getting education in top educational institution under Punjab Education Fund he said. The Chief Minister stressed upon the students that they should focus attention their studies to cope with the future challenges and steering the country out of the crisis as well as developing educated society. Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, the Punjab Chief Minister distributed laptops among the students.
