The Gujranwala Electric Power Company completed 887 development works at a cost of Rs 463 million in the first nine months of the current financial year to cut down the line losses and provide better facilities to the consumers in its region. GEPCO spokesman told Business Recorder that the work included installation of 444 transformers of 25 to 200 KVA capacities and up-gradation of 665 transformers in the districts of Gujranwala, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin and Hafizabad.
The spokesman claimed that after completion of these and other projects the electricity distribution company will save more than Rs 910 million under its programme of 'energy loss reduction and development of power projects'.
