PDMA hands over Sonar to Rescue 1122

The Punjab Minister for Disaster Management Maher Ijaz Achlana handed over Sonar to Director General, Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Dr Rizwan Naseer. The minister said on the occasion that Sonar is a technique that uses sound propagation to navigate, communicate with or detect objects on or under the surface of water during the flood situation and helps the process of rescue, relief and recovery.
Dr Rizwan Naseer thanked the Provincial Minister for Disaster Management and said Sonar will assist water rescue teams in boat operations during upcoming flood season in Punjab.
