Traffic police has miserably failed to control one-way violation by drivers of motorcycles, cars, rickshaws and other vehicles that goes unabated causing massive traffic jam and accidents in the city. Drivers of cars, rickshaws, motorcycles etc., have made it a regular practice to break the one-way traffic rule by plying their vehicles on the wrong side of the road. They avoid going on right track by use of intersections.
Traffic police officials let them violate rules by not taking action against them. They always complain shortage of manpower ignoring the fact that even present workforce don't perform their duty, honestly. It is also observed that traffic police officers make no efforts to apprehend drivers who violate one way as well as other rules. The high officials of traffic department don't patrol the city to oversee the performance of their subordinates.
Drivers don't care red lights of tariff signals and cross the road. Motorcyclists usually drive recklessly that causes accidents. The drivers stop their buses anywhere at will to pick up passengers that too create problems for the vehicles behind them. A large number of vehicles including cars, rickshaws motorcycles are plying in Karachi without number plates despite high alert in the city due to fear of terrorist activities.
