Secretary General, Jamaat-e-Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that Lahore was the centre of Pakistan's politics and a change in the city would inevitably bring a change in the national politics. While addressing the Marajul Bahrain Conference at Aiwan e Iqbal he said that those ruling Lahore and the Punjab and the corrupt mafia had brought disgrace to the province and denied basic requirements of life to the masses.
He said that the religious parties' leadership would have to forge unity in their ranks and mobilize the patriotic citizens, especially the youth, for a real change. Liaqat Baloch said that the Kashmiris were offering unparalleled sacrifices for liberation and for their right of self determination. However, he said, that the rulers in Islamabad were practically facilitating India on the Kashmir issue. He said in the prevailing conditions, it should be the top priority of the Pakistan government to draw the world attention to India's brutalities in Held Kashmir besides India's terrorist activities in this country and her water aggression against this country.
The JI central leader said undoubtedly, there was consensus of opinion of all the religious factions and sects regarding the arrival of Imam Mehdi, and it was believed that Imam Mehdi would bring in an era of peace and love and justice. Nevertheless, he said, Islam enjoined its followers not to wait for a bright future and instead continue efforts for the supremacy of Deen, and the enforcement of an Islamic social, economic and political system and also for the security and safe future for the present and the coming generations of the believers.
