This is apropos a Business Recorder news item "Rs 1trn FY18 federal PSDP ignores KP: CM" as carried by it on Thursday. According to it, Annual Plan Co-ordination Committee (APCC) has approved Rs 2.113 trillion for the next fiscal year Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) with Rs 65 billion allocation for different Prime Minister's programmes.
The report also stated that KP chief minister Pervez Khattak expressed his displeasure over little or no allocations to his province from the federal PSDP. The federal government must revisit its PSDP priorities with a view to promoting inter-provincial harmony. It must not neglect KP simply on grounds that it is ruled by its rival party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). A judicious approach to PSDP allocations will certainly boost Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz's own re-election prospects.
