This is apropos "Runaway budget deficits" carried by Business Recorder yesterday. The headline of the op-ed penned by Dr Hafiz A Pasha brings to one's mind the name of a 1999 American romantic film 'Runaway Bride' directed by Garry Marshall. Starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, the movie is the story of a reporter assigned to write about a woman who has left a string of fiancés at the altar. Maggie Carpenter (Julia Roberts), nervous of being married has left three men waiting for her at the altar on the wedding day, receiving tabloid tame and the dubious nickname "The Runaway Bride."
Is the writer suggesting that finance minister Ishaq Dar, who turned purportedly hostile towards Nawaz Sharif following the 1999 bloodless military coup, will be abandoning the PML-N head anytime soon?
