The 24th passing out parade of 365 recruits of Frontier Corp (FC) troops was held in FC ground inside the premises of forces cantonment, tehsil Landi Kotal of Khyber Agency on Tuesday. Besides Brigadier Qazi Wasimuddin, Commander of 23 brigade as chief guest, Commandant FC, Colonel Umar Farooq Assistant Political Agents (APAs), Landi Kotal and Jamrud Niaz Muhammad and Zia-ur-Rahman Marwat, forces officials, tehsildars, tribal elders and large number of friends and family members of the passing out cadets were among the participants. The chief guest examined the parade and administered oath to the new recruits.
Addressing on the occasion, Brigadier Qazi said that after being a part of the well-decorated FC unit, the new recruits would dealt with war against terrorism and it was necessary for the troops to have knowledge of ideological foundation of the war. It was actually the combat of principle and depravity and the force would not let handful miscreants to execute their nefarious designs in the name of Islam, he explained.
He urged the new recruits to safeguard the tribal blood and honour at the cost of their lives. Paying rich tribute to the FC, Brigadier Qazi Wasim said that the troops had exhibited extra-bravery in the Pak-India war of 1965 and wars against terrorism ie Zarb-e-Azb, Darghlum, Bia Darghlum, Rahi Nijat, Rahi Rast and other forces operations had given unmatched sacrifices for the sake of their motherland. Prizes were also awarded to the shining cadets. Ihsanullah Ourkzai was granted best cadet prize while Alpha Company received champion trophy.
